How do I clear a laptop CMOS password?
To the general public, this is not a question one would ask everyday. But, say, one day you start your computer and you see a white screen asking you to enter the administrator password for your computer. First, you should call a tech (me, preferably ). However, if you are computer literate, there are a few ways to reset your password.
To that end, a laptop BIOS password is more secure than a desktop to help protect the data if stolen. If you are the original owner of the laptop, I also recommend contacting the manufacturer of the laptop. Companies such as Dell, Lenovo, and Toshiba can reset the password if you are the original owner using the Service Tag, disk, or give you exact steps for your laptop. They will require certain information from you in order to assist you and may require payment if your computer is out of warranty.

If you are not the original owner of the laptop, there are some ways to bypass the password depending on the manufacture and model of the laptop.
